40 GT Skipper Practice for Bulgaria

What this tool solves

Reading a long question file from start to finish makes it difficult to identify weak areas. The trainer turns the published English bank into short practice sessions and keeps a separate review queue for questions answered incorrectly.

A mistake stays in that queue until the same question is answered correctly three times in a row. This supports deliberate revision without changing the wording, answer choices or stable ID of any published question.

Who it is for

• Candidates using the English material published for the Bulgarian 40 GT qualification.
• Sailors revising COLREG lights, shapes, collision-avoidance rules and IALA marks.
• Students who need short practice sessions and a persistent mistake list.
• Instructors who use the bank as an exercise and verify current rules in primary sources.

How to use it

1. Select the English version and confirm that the active bank contains 153 questions.
2. Start a random session or open topic practice for a specific official section.
3. Answer each question and review the indicated correct answer before moving on.
4. Open My mistakes to practise only previously missed questions.
5. Repeat each difficult question until three consecutive correct answers remove it from review.
6. Check uncertain answers against the current COLREG, IALA material and the official administration pages.

Practical example

A learner practises twelve COLREG/IALA questions and misses a cardinal mark and a vessel-light question. Both stable question IDs are added to the English mistake queue.

On later visits the learner opens My mistakes and repeats only those items. The queue records progress locally and removes an item after three correct answers in succession. The full 60-question simulation remains disabled because the published English bank does not cover all five required sections.

How the trainer works

Practice questions are selected randomly from the active language bank. Topic sessions filter the same bank by its official exam section. The trainer records totals, correct answers and mistake-review state in the browser.

A complete simulation requires enough questions for 20 Navigation, 15 COLREG/IALA, 15 Seamanship, 5 Technical and 5 Maritime law items. The English bank contains 153 COLREG/IALA items only, so presenting it as a full official-format simulation would be misleading and is intentionally prevented.

Limitations and checks

• This is not an official examination, approved training centre or guarantee of eligibility or success.
• The English bank is limited to COLREG/IALA and cannot represent the complete five-section examination.
• Published question files may lag behind changes to regulations, procedures or fees.
• Use current COLREG, IALA and Bulgarian Maritime Administration information when an answer is unclear.
• Online practice does not replace practical training, chart work or instruction from a qualified teacher.

Progress and privacy

Answer totals, statistics and missed-question IDs are stored in localStorage in the current browser, separately for each language. Xephory does not create an account or synchronise this study record between devices.

Clearing site data, private browsing, changing browser profile or changing device can remove the local record. Google Analytics and AdSense may process separate measurement or advertising data according to the choice made in Privacy settings.
